Preferred Providers

Preferred providers are providers you've worked with and want to see first. Star a provider after a completed shift by going to their profile and selecting Add to Preferred. You can also manage your full preferred list from Shifts Mode, then Providers.

Once a provider is starred, they appear at the top of your applicant list when they apply to future shifts. They're also eligible for auto-hire if you've enabled it.

Auto-Hire

Auto-hire lets you skip the manual approval step for providers you already trust. When you enable it on a shift, any preferred provider who applies is automatically approved. You'll get a notification confirming the hire.

To turn it on, look for the Auto-Hire toggle during shift creation in the provider settings step. Auto-hire only applies to your starred providers. Unknown applicants still require manual review regardless of the setting.

If you prefer to review every applicant yourself, leave the toggle off. Manual review is the default for every shift.

Real-Time Shift Messaging

On the day of an active shift, you can message your hired provider directly inside the portal. No need to exchange phone numbers or use outside channels.

To open the chat, go to Shifts Mode, then Shifts, open the active shift, and click Message Provider. The conversation is real-time. After the shift ends, it's automatically archived in the shift's detail page so you always have a record.

Messaging requires the provider to be logged in to the ShiftRx provider app. If it's a time-sensitive situation and they're not responding, contact ShiftRx support for help reaching them.
